The shock of the new - Rick Steins long weekends - Bordeaux

Did Rick miss a trick when he recently visited Bordeaux as part of the #longweekends series. To be fair the newly opened Contemporary museum entitled #The City of wine had yet to welcome its first visitors through the door, (Is there one or do you get teleported at the entrance?) Of course the designers of this monolithic structure know how to blend the old and the new, and to keep us all interested, even if wine isnt your thing, you will still marvel at the dimensions of the "space", the materials used and the technology which makes us feel more at home, between breaks from our screens. Not saying you should avoid the now pedestrianised centre, culture seeping from every limestone pore, and classical architecture breathing down your neck, its just theres a new buzz about town, and its pretty cutting edge even for French standards, (and im a big fan of the place, France that is)
